Hola mis amigos! Today was our second day of school. But before our lovely commute to the academic builidng, everyone had to wake up and eat breakfast and get ready for the lovely day ahead of us. Today was my day to do dishes - along with Winson and Everett. Everyone has a different day of the week when they are assigned dish duty. After completing our dish duty task we walked to the metro. Today was unusually crowded for an 8:30 commute; this is because there was an accident where 2 metro wokers were killed at a suburban stop. So after bearing the crowds, we all arrived to school perfectly in tact.
The day started with morning meeting which is basically just a debriefing of the day ahead of us. Next we had school meeting which is when we discuss prevalent in the group. Today we discussed the possibilities of a group blog - the idea which was spurred from this very blog. Also in school meeting, everyone was assigned their chores for the academic building. My chore is to make sure that the second floor hallway and the stairs leading up are clean. In the future, school meeting will be lead by one of us students.
After school meeting, I had a free period, so instead of working on my homework (I actually finished it all the night before) I went to a cafe with Tracy and Aaron. I got a mocha which was actually really good. Audrey and Kyra want to break my caffeine addiction, but I really don't see that happening. The three of us also walked around DuPont Circle for a bit before returning back to the academic building for class.
My first class of the day was APUSH with Gray. We continued our very brief review of all US history up until Reconstruction. Also, apparently my history notes from HB are amazing. Gray told me that I should sell them. People were also apparently talking about their amazingness because Jorge just asked me about them... Thanks KP for teaching me such amazing note taking skills.
After APUSH, we had lunch which was falaffel sandwiches or turkey sandwiches. Lunch is a great time to just chill and talk to everyone - and that is exactly what I did.
After lunch, I had Spanish. I'm really starting to like this class because all we do is converse. I feel like my conversation skills have already gotten a lot better.
After Spanish, I had CoGoPo. We discussed the section on Britain that we had read the night before. I really like this class and the material. I also really like that its a class based on concepts so I feel like I will be able to do really succeed.
After CoGoPo, I had PreCalc. We learned about logs. It was jolly. I have a really big class and it's in a really small room. It's kind of a struggle. Oh well.
After PreCalc, I had my first English class which Noah teaches. Basically all we did was get a course overview and discuss what our previous English classes had been like.
Basically I hate blogging. This blog hates me. I completely finished this post and then it wouldn't post. Now it's disappeared into the vast world of the internet. Ksweet.
After PreCalc, I had my first English class which is taught by Noah. It will be an interesting class with lots of great discussion. After English school was finally over at a very late time of 4:35. After that we did our chores and returned home. We stopped at the neighborhood convenience store to buy some food. I purchased diet coke, because yes, I am a caffeiene addict.
After that we had dinner which was pasta. We also had cake in celebration of Teddy's 17th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TEDDY!! After dinner, Winson, Everett, and I cleaned up the kitchen and did our dish duty. After dinner, it was time to do our homework. I went to the Congressional with Sophie, Winson, Teddy, Aaron and Trevor because we all wanted a quiet place to study. The Congressional is another building that we have access to that has lots of quiet rooms to study in. After finishing my work, we all came back to the residential and went to bed. Yay! What a long and fun and eventful day! Just like everyday here in DC. I love it!
Tomorrow is our first day long Ethics and Leadership class. We have to dress up because we will be visiting the Pentagon and the Hatian Embassy. I'm really excited! That's all for now -- and hopefully my posts will stop deleting themselves and not posting. :)
